Solve a murder investigation Mad Men style. Showgirls! Travel! Cocktails! Walter Vanderbuilt has been arrested for the murder of Los Angeles plastic surgeon, Dr. Christopher Bedford. His desperate mother hires private investigator Alan Baxter to prove his innocence. As Alan, you’ll travel all over the country, interviewing witnesses and picking up clues to get to the bottom of this mystery.

For anyone who might be unfamiliar with this type of adventure interface, the interaction menu is brought up by right-clicking on the person or object. Three icons will appear (take/use, look, and talk), just click the appropriate one. The inventory is hidden at the top of the screen, you just have to mouse over it to bring it into view. The Esc brings up the menu to save, load, quit, etc. Easy, peasy.

I did notice some issues with the sound, voices sometimes cut out before the dialogue was finished. And occasionally text dialogue would skip before I had a change to read it. This didn’t take away from overall enjoyment of the game. It’s a very impressive debut from Uwe Sittig, and I look forward to more games from him.
